waste of land

Rotterdam in the Netherlands is internationally renowned for its diversity in culture, architecture and land use. But what gets left behind? There are a whole host of places where none of this seems to have taken root. No culture, no architecture, not even any use of the land. Wasteland that seems to belong to no one, that no one seems to be interested in.

I am temporarily occupying this wasteland between tram tracks and a shopping centre with my blue camping chair for exactly one hour while I’m trying to strike up conversations with the people passing by (or through) through my presence.
