In my hometown, there’s a street called ‘Auf dem Ufer’. Which translates roughly to ‘On the Shore’. As this street is on my way home and I often walk along it, I frequently spot all sorts of random things by the roadside. That’s when I had the idea to collect these things somehow.

As it was important to me to be as resource-efficient as possible for this project, I built a canvas from scraps from my local art supply shop and sprayed it with super-duper mega-strong spray adhesive. The kind from the DIY store that’s always used in those promotional videos which play on a loop, far too loud, on tiny screens.

The composition emerged completely spontaneously and without any direct influence from me. I simply pressed the canvas onto interesting things. Auf dem Ufer.
